PIM — Product Information Management

A PIM is the source of truth for product information: names, descriptions, attributes, images, translations. It sits between the suppliers and every channel that displays a product.

In a small catalog, product data lives inside the commerce platform. In a larger or multi-channel catalog, product data outgrows what the commerce platform is good at and earns its own system: a PIM.

  • Single source of product truth
  • Channel-agnostic data
  • Translation workflows
  • Asset management

Benefits

One product, many channels

The same product description, attributes, and images go to the storefront, the marketplace, the print catalog, and the reseller portal. No silent drift between channels.

Translations as a workflow

A PIM makes translation a first-class operation with status, deadlines, and reviewer roles — not a side activity in spreadsheets.

Attributes evolve without code

New attribute (e.g. "country of origin", "carbon class") added in the PIM appears on every channel that knows how to read it. No commerce platform deployment needed.
